Fiberglass Entry Door with Sidelights — Guelph Project

A woodgrain look with the character of a solid-panel entrance. For this Guelph project, Falcon WD installed a fiberglass entry door framed by two textured-glass sidelights. The real project photograph shows the door, its panel detail and the surrounding brick entrance.

A balanced entrance

The door’s dark finish contrasts with the light brick and porch trim. A tall raised panel above a smaller lower panel gives the slab a traditional profile, while the matching frame ties the entrance together.

Glass sits on both sides of the door rather than within the door panel itself. That arrangement keeps the centre visually solid and gives the overall entrance a symmetrical look.

Woodgrain detail in a fiberglass door

Although the surface has a woodgrain texture, the door in this project is fiberglass—not a wood door. The photograph captures the grain across the slab and the moulded edges around the raised panels.

This is a useful distinction when planning an entrance: the material, surface texture, colour and panel design are separate choices. Looking at a real installed example helps you decide which combination suits your own brickwork, porch and exterior trim.

Textured glass on both sides

The two sidelights frame the entrance from near the threshold to the top of the door system. Their textured surface softens the view through the glass, while the door itself remains the main focal point.

When comparing glass options for your home, review an actual sample and discuss the level of privacy you want. Texture, lighting and viewing distance can affect what is visible through the glass.
