The amount of time it will take us to install your doors and windows will depend on, among other things, the number of doors and windows you need to replace. It will usually take our installers an average of one or two days per project. But it can take between 30 and 90 days for window projects. When you contact us to enquire about a project, we will be able to give you a more precise estimate depending on your needs and the season.
When you want energy efficient windows and doors, look for the ENERGY STAR rating. The ENERGY STAR symbol shows that the windows and doors are proven to be energy efficient. All of the Vinyl-Pro windows and doors we sell have the ENERGY STAR certification.
When you contact us to schedule an in-home consultation for your windows and doors needs, you can expect the consultation to take between one hour and one and a half hours. During this time, our installers will spend time discussing your needs, taking measurements for the doors and windows, answering your questions, and making recommendations. At the end of the in-home consultation, you will be given a written quote for the project.
If you need to replace your windows with energy-efficient models, you should consider four specific things. Those are frame material, glass, design, and installation.
Energy-efficient windows have the ENERGY STAR designation, have a good u-factor that demonstrates insulation properties, have a favorable solar heat gain coefficient number that refers to how much solar heat the window transmits, have multiple panes of glass for insulation, have low-E coatings that help keep your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, and have special inert gas between the panes of glass to add to the insulation.
While windows will last a long time, the time will come when they need to be replaced. Signs that you need to consider getting replacement windows include difficulty opening and closing them, drafty windows, persistent condensation, higher energy costs, single pane glass, and fading furniture and flooring. If you’re experiencing any of these issues, you need to visit a replacement window shop.
When you need replacement windows, you’ll want to carefully consider what type of windows would work best for your home. There are various types of windows, and some will work better in some rooms than in other rooms. For instance, casement windows work great for kitchens since they offer the ventilation needed for that room. And bow windows and bay windows are great for living rooms as they allow for more natural light to enter your residence. You’ll also want to consider the type of frame material you want and the climate in order to get the right windows.
It’s important to maintain your vinyl windows. While they won’t require a whole lot of maintenance, doing some basic maintenance now and again will keep them looking their best and enable them to last longer. You’ll want to clean the glass with regular glass cleaner, to wipe down the vinyl material using soapy water, and to clean the screen by spraying them with a garden hose and applying some soapy water.
